Other Information

*Attend two community meetings, i.e. Common Council, School Board, County Board between Oct. and March and complete a report form for each meeting.  If you attend with other class members, combine thoughts and send in one report with all of your names listed.
(Nov. Board Development Conference counts as one of the above requirements.)

**Keep a team project binder that includes the items listed on the Project Binder Guidelines.

Team Projects

- Team project reporting is required at each session.  Once your Dec. written report is turned in there are no more written project reports!
- Have consistent team project planning meeting dates and times, agenda, take minutes to include action items, vary meeting facilitators.
- Attend team project planning meetings, do assigned tasks on time.
- Contact team if you will be late or cannot make the meeting.  If you miss a meeting, it is your responsibility to check with team S/P on action items before next meeting.
- Be responsible for your action items (when one person doesn’t follow through, it creates stress and a precious time lapse in moving the project forward!).
- Create a team email group with kb included. Give your team project members the respect they deserve by answering emails as soon as possible (for sure within 24 hours).  Sometimes the request just requires a yes or no!  This is vital communication piece!
- Continue building relationships with team members – a simple warm up question is good before the meeting starts.
- Speak up, speak with respect and speak out in public kindly about one another and your team.  What happens in your group stays in your group.  If there is consistent behavior that does not contribute to the team effort; please give me a call.
- Apologize if needed (the character traits you are learning need to be practiced and applied within your team).
- Have FUN and make FUN within your team – celebrate along the Way!

Marketing

- Unless otherwise stated, please put this statement on all Leadership Racine project marketing pieces:  Established in 1997, Leadership Racine is a collaborative program of Racine Area Manufacturers and Commerce, Racine Community Foundation and United Way of Racine County.  LR Logo available (ask kb).

- All marketing pieces (includes letters, flyers, brochures, etc.) need to be approved by Karen Bayer.  Please allow her enough turn around time on your request.

- If there is room, it is always nice to list the name of your team, the individual members of your team and agency/company they represent or the logo.

- When it is appropriate for your team project marketing purposes, two people from your team should schedule a time to go on WRJN with Mark Eickhorst, 639-5331 or Paul Kern, 634-3311.  Mark is on the “air” on Sat. and Paul during the week.  I will email Mark and or Paul your project’s mission, vision and challenge ahead of time.  Bring them with you to the interview as well.  I’d also be prepared to visit with Mark or Paul about the LR program (download LR brochure from the web) and your involvement within the program.  Great opportunity to recruit others for this community experience!
